If you want to create a website, then you should not hurry, People need Something, which is different from the other and easy to use...Everyone knows the simplicity of faecbook(blue and white colour- no more graphics)

so first of all make a plan..
and learn C or C++ first (because every other language like Java, Python etc) are conceptually same as C or C++..
for making a social networking, you must have a server, Interface, High speed Broadband, and a strong unbreakable code.

it nice to make social networking website, it not easy but not to be difficult. learn about programming languages like html, php, java, .net and more. but php and html are easy to learn. Facebook social website is also developed in php.
