a hashtag is the symbol u get when u hold down the shift key while pressing the number 3 on a computer's keyboard. A hashtag is used mainly by Twitter users to notify other users how a certain tweet can be commented on. For instance, if ur on Twitter, and u cee a hashtag followed buy a phrase or sentence, that is the topic their tweet is referring to, that is what ur response should have at the end of it.
