Yes, according to research from the University of Michigan.
During a two week period, they found that the more time a person spends on Facebook, the more his or her feelings of well-being decrease and feelings of depression increase.

It used to. Until I decided to deactivate the profile where I added all of my friends from kindergarten till university.. and open up a new one just for my family and some people I add as farmville 2 neighbours.
