ok, i just signed up for twitter yesterday but i dont know what to tweet or what kind of things most ppl tweet about or whatever, cuz i just signed up yesterday and i dont really know anything about twitter. somehow i have 5 followers but they are ppl i dont even know plus i have no tweets so why would they follow me? is it normal to get 5 followers the day after you signed up and have no tweets? im so confused

Some people follow other people because they expect you to follow them back.

They probably want you to follow you back or they are just Twitter spam sending out thousands of Tweets every hour.
You've just signed up to Twitter fantastic, I would suggest searching your interests one at a time into Twitter search https://twitter.com/#!/search-home to find new people to follow. Tweet people and ReTweet great things and you'll grow you followers instantly.
