Agree or Disagree? There should be a list of all the Slumlords on the internet in the USA? - S - 03-24-2014 11:03 AM

If the landlords have a list of tenants who don't pay their rent on time.
Then the Tenants should have a list of all the Slumlords to watch out for.

yes-- but owning more than one building is probably wrong

Only if the complainant is willing to provide a mug shot as their avatar.

yeah, because driving past a place you are interested in renting before you rent it is too much work

and talking to the landlord or person managing the property before you sign a lease is even more work

Sure. Why not? But I don't think it should be a government run thing. Rental agencies work as private entities and property owners pay them for their services.

You could start one, but you'll have your brains sued in by every landlord that has their name listed.

I am assuming you mean ALL landlords who own government assisted housing?

Otherwise, what standard are you going to use to determine who is On the list and who is NOT?

sounds good, but remember that not everyone out here tends to make sure they are fair in their assessment of such things. there are people who would, for example, fail to uphold their rental or lease agreements and then turn around and slam the landlord if he decided to evict them or otherwise go after reparations, etc. so I don't know. but I do know that I rarely take the average person's opinion about a lot of things.
