Tips to get a bigger audience on YouTube? - Sam - 03-24-2014 11:05 AM

Any tips or tricks to help me get my channel out there and get more people to watch and subscribe? Thanks!

You could promote videos using money. You could make a Facebook page for your channel also. Smile

Of course, the basics. Tag your videos, have interesting icons and titles, and the most important part -- make quality videos. You don't necessarily have to have an HD camera, you just have to be entertaining.

If you want to get your channel out there, you could try promoting yourself on other social networks. If you have a popular twitter, tumblr, facebook, or instagram account, tell people to watch your videos there. It's okay if you don't have popular accounts on other websites, though, but your should make an account for you videos anyway -- the more exposure, the better.

Please don't spam other peoples' videos or inboxes; it's annoying, rude, and extremely disrespectful to do so. Also, you shouldn't sub for sub, as the subscribers you earn from that will most likely not watch your videos and it will end up being a big waste of time.

Just try to make friends. Be active on the YouTube community. Don't make spam comments; instead, try for a top comment. People often check out top commenters' channels, and if you have a video that automatically plays on your channel, it counts as a view, and possibly even a subscriber. Message other active YouTubers and make friends. You can do collabs with friends and promote each other's respective channels. Try not to do collabs with strangers or people you don't know well, though, as they often cheat and don't promote you after you promote them.

You can also join a collab channel. Watch out for these and audition. It's a great way to get lots of exposure because of the combined amount of subscribers watching the videos.

Lastly, do generic things, like the cinnamon challenge, the salt and ice challenge, etc., because people often search for these and watch random users' videos. Be different, do stupid stuff that any sane person wouldn't do. (Check out Charlie McDonnell's video titled "The Purple Man.") Because stupid things get attention. Just don't put yourself in any danger for subscribers; it's not worth it.

Good luck (:
