So far I haven't caught anything. With any website comes a chance of getting a virus. Don't worry so much as to will the website give you something but worry about your protection on your computer. Do you have a good firewall, a good anti-virus, and a good spyware program. If you have good protection a virus will be hard to come by but it is still possible, anything today is possible.

It is definitely safer and more secure than myspace. Because myspace allows users to customize their profile with all sorts of junk like scripts and external pictures , links and stuff while facebook dont. There are no virus threats linked to facebook itself but yes, the advertisement links there can cause virus triggers and other adware programs to get installed so until you are just on the facebook website then its safe.
