Do people monetize their own blogs? Why? - Akihiro - 03-24-2014 11:07 AM

Hi, I have begun writing blog about my daily life and I saw monetize button on Google Blogger. I have also seen people who are writing about their lifestyle on blogs and linking blogs posts on Facebook Pages(to promote their site??).

My questions are following:

- I would like to know how monetize function on Google Blogger works.

- Do people normally advertise themselves (by including their lifestyle, howto-tips etc..) through social networking services?? If so, are they doing this to just to be famous on the Internet??

I also want to know what are the advantages of having Facebook pages and Facebook ads and the difference between those.

Since I am a tyro of blogging stuff, I would be grateful if you could answer this question.

On Blogger you would monetize your blog by showing Google Adsense ads on your blog. It would require a free Adsense account and you would earn money when people click on the ads.

It is very common for people to advertise themselves through social networking services. That is why most celebrities have Facebook Fan pages. A lot of companies have fan pages as well. It's a way to interact with fans and create a following.

A Facebook fan page is a free page where you can build and interact with a fan base. Facebook ads are just that, advertisements you can pay for to advertise a product, service or to get more fans.
