How do I get my Lg banter to notify me when I have a new message, friend request, etc? I don't want to have to go to facebook every time and THEN see what my notifications are. I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask. Thanks in advance.

You can get text notifications but that will just be friend request, messages, comments on posts and friend statuses
Go to the mobile application on facebook to set it up
