I know colleges have the ablitiy to see my facebook reguardless of my privacacy settings. If I deactive my fb until I have heard back from the college can they see my fb anyways or will they not be able to? I dont have anything bad on my facebook, I would just feel more comfortable if a college did not base part of their decision on my personal things but rather my grades. What about twitter? Do colleges look at just fb or twitter as well?

Colleges aren't special--they can't see stuff you have hidden in your privacy settings. Don't know where you got that idea from but it's incorrect.
