I will be peddling a bicycle w/trailer and my feline buddy accompany me from Chesapeake,VA to Orlando,FL. Mileage is between 831- 1000 to our destination. On US S. HWY 17 & US S.HWY 301 through Virginia,North Carolina,South Carolina,Georgia, and parts of Florida. I am riding for THE COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS & a CURE FOR HIV & AIDS.

When riding for a cause or charity - NO ONE sponsors you but YOU. It's YOUR job to go out & get $$$. It's YOUR job to rely on friends & family for help. It's YOUR job to promote the ride. It's YOUR job to go out & get DONATIONS - not sponsors.

NO ONE is going to pay you or sponsor you to take a vacation on your bicycle with your cat. Want to see someone riding for a good cause? Check this out...

Do you mean that you want to get sponsorship for AN historic ride?

If THE COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS & a CURE FOR HIV & AIDS is your choice it is going to be essential that you talk with their people before you do ANYTHING. If they are unwilling to endorse you then you generally can't use their name.

Once you get their endorsement then you can start banging on doors and asking for sponsorships. You have to do this the old fashioned way by authoring a plan, providing your experience and history in doing such things, and developing a budget.

All of this stuff is quite daunting and will take hundreds of hours to compile not including the amount of time you will need to meet with and convince sponsors to part with their money.

Ask them 4 or 5 times.
