Tons of posts on Instagram are saying that is you don't repost that your account will be deleted since they have to many users now. Is this real or a joke?

No. This is not true. These are hoaxes made up by people to get attention. If in the rare chance that Instagram does shut down, they will announce it here: http://blog.instagram.com/.
