Ideas for creating a satire about teens and social media? - Riley - 03-24-2014 11:30 AM

hey guys!

for my english class, we are covering satire. i want to do a video project on how social communication has changed over the years for teenagers. now, kids rely on facebook, tumblr, twitter, and instagram to communicate rather than physically talk to one another.

i have one idea of creating a mockumentary of the show 'the office' whereas it would be called 'the school' and kids would be using social media 24/7 but idk

i need other ideas..and some direction. help!

Kids on social media already is a satire, you just have to roll with it and put extra emphasis on what you are making a statement about with the satire.

The satire can be of a kid thinking he's the coolest because he has a lot of facebook friends or a lot of followers (or to get the full effect, make him popular on multiple social media things), but in reality he doesnt have many friends.

The satire can critique the fact that the internet, which supposedly makes him more popular, is really making him have no friends in real life since hes so obsessed with his internet fame.
