Since May 2010 Facebook offers again the possibility to stop showing your list of friends on your profile. This guide will show you how to do it:

There are times when you may wish to hide your friends lists on Facebook. Perhaps you do not want some of your friends or family members to know who else is in on your network. Or perhaps you move in different social circles and want to keep them separate. Facebook gives you the freedom to set privacy controls for your friends lists as well as many other features on your profile.

Method 1
1
Click "Account" on the far right of the top menu. Click "Privacy Settings."

Click "View Settings" under "Connecting on Facebook."

Look for "See your friends list." Click the button on the far right of that item.

Click "Custom... edit." Under "Make this visible to," click the drop-down list and select "Only Me."
5
Click "Save Setting." Click "Preview My Profile" to see the changes you made. Click "Back to Privacy" to return to the previous page.

Click "Profile" on the menu.

Click the pencil icon on the "Friends" box.

Click "Change Visibility Settings" to increase the privacy level for the list
