What words can you not stand? - picaroon - 03-24-2014 11:36 AM

For instance when someone says "belly," I want to attack someone. Or if they say OJ instead of orange juice. Drives me crazy. What about you?

Folded (as in laundry).

I avoid saying it as much as possible.

When people say ridonkulous or however it's spelt instead of ridiculous.
Also, when people just say Cali instead of California

Bicker.
My mom says it ALL the time and it drives me crazy.
Also when someone says Overnight instead of Sleepover.

onomatopoeias like "squeak" or "burp."

Oh there are soooooooooo many!
* the overuse of diva and awesome so that they no longer mean what they used to!
*the use of regime to describe a fitness routine.
* the use of large/small to describe a number.
* the use of tweet as a verb ie "Tweet us at" It's "Twitter us at" (We don't say "Letter me your answer.")
* the writing of the word 'have' as 'of' as in "I would of done it."
*grammer spelled like Kelsey's last name!
*the use of the noun good as an adverb. " I slept good last night" 'I did good on my exam"
and the pronounciations that makes me cringe: Mary Hart et al completely omitting the second syllable in Josh Duhamel's name. Du-a-mel, not Doomel.
Iraq is not pronounced "Eyerack" it's "Earrack" (It's an ear not an eye!)
Neuclear is only pronounced 'newclear'- all one word.
and the word I hate just because it exists: 'brassiere'
