Depressed introvert; facebook affecting me negatively..what is your opinion? - Forty Feet Up - 03-24-2014 11:38 AM

Dunno if I've ever felt so lonely in my life(20 and attending trade school). I just deactivated my account on that Face place(facebook); I'm the only one I've ever seen who's statuses are hardly ever "liked" much less commented on. People hardly ever "follow" me much less actually MESSAGE me or something. All my "friends" have become online contacts. I still talk with two of 'em, but even they got their own lives to tend to...are these people I speak of even real?

Please don't tell me to just get out there and socialize -_- I DO. I am working towards going and seeing the real world already. As a guy deep on the introverted end, this year's been a really lonesome, depressing, frustrating low point in my life. I feel more like retracting into myself, and not speaking to anyone.

You shouldn't try and get satisfaction from Facebook likes.

If you don't have friends in real life, that does seem rather depressing. But, if you do talk to people outside of Facebook, then screw Facebook and other social media. I only have like 40 friends on Facebook and that's because I don't really care to keep in contact with every person I have ever met. I use Facebook as a means to keeping up with friends who have moved away and are doing other things with their lives and I don't see them every day.

You're not alone dude, but I agree with Ski
