Facebook Advertising is part of Internet Marketing, that I understand. But there is a more niche type of marketing it is, and I can't think of the name (want to know, so I can do some research, and reading about it). And secondly, what are some good sources to go to for promoting products/services with high referral fees, and pay outs?

Social marketing.
High payouts don't always make for the highest profits, some products just don't sell, giving your campaigns low conversion rates, although Amazon only pays 4%-8% their high conversion can make promoting higher end products there worthwhile.
If you can pass the telephone survey questions regarding your marketing experience and ethics you can hook up wit CPA networks which pay for specific sales leads, generally easier to secure than an actual sale. While just getting aan email submission might earn $1 or so, getting someone to sign up for cosmetics samples for example Luminess Air can pay as much as $33.
Many of the more scammy promotions like surveys, "You've won" offers and content locker pages are promoting CPA offers.

It is paid advertising in Facebook. You can try different ad copies for different keywords and analyze their results in order to make decisions.

You're referring to Social Media Marketing, which is the utilization of social media channels such as Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Yelp, etc. as a means to get the word out.

It's called social media marketing. For the second part of your question, it really will depend on what the product/service that you want to promote is.
