Windows 7.5 phone or android 4 ICS? - Phil - 03-24-2014 11:45 AM

Which of these platforms do you think is better? In terms of ease of use, speed, market, among others?
In my case, I am considering either Nokia Lumia 800 or Htc one v.
Please explain why.
Thanks!

Ease of Use: WP7. Android is simply more difficult to use and requires 'matinence' like rebooting once a week or even up to twice a day! (my mom's Android G2X has to be rebooted daily to function without crashing!) WP7 on the other hand runs very smoothly without any special needs.

Speed: The HTC One is faster than the Lumia, generally. They both have 4G HSPA+ and LTE so internet speeds will be the same. Opening apps and playing games etc will be slightly faster on the One though. This is not to say the Lumia is slow, they are both high-end smartphones, the android one though is slightly faster.

Market: Android wins here. Many apps come to iOS and Android first, and then after several months make their way to WP7. However, the WP7 marketpace is rapidly growing!

Overall, I'm not positive which one to reccomend. It depends on you. If you are a casual smartphone user, using your phone to snap photos, check facebook/twitter, read news, check email and browse the web, I'd reccomend the Windows Phone. WP7 is simply easier to use to do the basic things. However, if you are a power user, using lots of specialty apps, playing graphic intensive games, and like to have the latest and greatest, the One may be better for you. It's a personal decision. I'd reccomend going into an AT&T store and trying them both out.
