Like any other site, by networking with people who have a lot of followers. Comment on someone's image and most likely you'll grow your fanbase if that is what your looking for.

Sometimes they already have a large following on another website so the followers also follow them on other social media. But if you are looking for more followers, you can try to hashtag things so more people will be able to see the picture if they look at the tags

I'm not really sure how that happens. Obviously celebs and women who show skin get followers. I've been on twitter a while now, and I have 29 followers ..... I'm not exactly taking the social media world by a storm
