I'm going to get Facebook timeline because everyone gets reverted to it anyway, i was just wondering if i got it now would i have the chance to remove old status' ? I went through a darker stage of my life and expressed things that were appropriate for the time but i don't want other people to be able to look back on..

You can, everything is explained under their "timeline tour", what you exactly want to show/hide.
