Isn't the Stalkers application on Facebook illegal? - Mystic Dreamer - 03-24-2014 04:35 PM

I've gotten a post on my wall from some "Stalkers" application (via one of my male friends) stating that I visit his profile the most. 1st of all I'm not even on Facebook that much and when I'm on I barely look at his page.
But 2nd of all I thought applications like that are illegal because its considered hacking. Isn't it illegal because that's an invasion of privacy?

I seriously want to report that app.
Of all my friends we've only msg'ed each other once and I only commented on one of his statuses. I never written on his wall.

Btw if they go by the amount of msgs someone sent and times a person written on a wall why is it called "stalkers" and not "stats"? Why do people believe in that app for? This is one of the reasons why I dislike facebook cause of things like this.

It doesn't say what you look at or anything just that you look at your friends page. It's not about how many times you've looked at his page but how many comments and messages he has from you. That's what determines the line-up.

Edit due to added information from Asker: Well then I'd say that it is illegal and you should report that app. to facebook asap. That's an invasion of privacy.

Yes, that application can be illegal because as you said, "that's an invasion of privacy". Facebook is a privacy website, not a public website where people can see what others are doing. Facebook wants to keep people's information private.
