Status or tweet mining and analyzing?
Hi there I was wondering if there was away of monitoring people's tweet for Facebook status and analyze them. I'm not to sure if its related to data mining. My goal is to collect social media user status and get the info I may need. and if there isn't such a thing is it passable to program a software that would crawl through social media sites. like Google crawl through sites and their links to find then best match

Yes, ask the NSA and they should be able to give you what you need.

Yes, it's being done continuously. Twitter, with it's standardized length constraint, was designed with exactly that purpose in mind. Collecting the data is the easy part. Analysis is the real business-end of the stick, and the CIA has made leaps forward since these articles were written in late 2011:
