HELP! I think someone hacked into my Facebook, Instagram, and email accounts.? - Jessica - 03-24-2014 04:39 PM

i opened my instagram and it said i needed to re-log in so i did. when i tried my password, it said it was incorrect. so i clicked the "send email to reset password" link thing and when i tried to open my google email account, it said it was wrong as well. i had it send a confirmation code to my phone and got into it. then when finally into it, i saw some emails confirming changed passwords to my email, instagram, and facebook that i HAD NOT changed. when i checked my facebook, the same thing happened when i tried to log into instagram. my facebook profile picture was changed to "i am a massive faggot" and it now said that i was in a civil union. Sad
I reset all the passwords but i dont understand how someone got all my passwords. i dont ever share passwords so it doesnt make sence. any ideas?

Usually when someone hacks into your facebook, you are given information about the location of the hacker.. But I'm guessing that if you weren't given any information about their location, then the location must be around the same area as yours as it wasn't identified as 'abnormal' if you get me?
It's possible to get into someone's facebook account just by identifying a few faces of friends that are tagged in photos, so if the person that hacked you knows people that you know, then they will have been able to identify the people on the pictures, therefore gaining access and being able to reset your password. At least that's how it used to work (I once had to go through this to reset my own password).

I hope I might have helped a bit, and I hope you manage to work out how this has happened!
