I want to create a facebook group where everyone can post something and then it sends updates to other group members. That way, the whole group gets an update and does not have to check the page everyday.

Here are the steps to create a Facebook Group: http://helpwithlogin.com/facebook-group-to-facebook-page/ and you can later modify Facebook Group settings to meet your need.
