Employers Checking Facebook? - Orcleus - 03-24-2014 04:55 PM

It is a well-known fact that, very often, employers check their current or prospective employees’ social media accounts (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc). Many cases in which employees were fired because of "inappropriate" pictures or texts posted on Facebook were reported in the media. Do you see this practice as legitimate and appropriate, or as an invasion of privacy on the part of the employers?

I see it as an invasion of privacy..

Whos business is it if I got drunk on the weekend 2 years ago and my friend posted a picture of me at the local bar !

Now I cant work because of it !

idiocy !

"they have a right to check out who they are hiring"

- They have no right to pry into every detail of your personal life. If they had the 'legal right' they would request to come visit you at home on a weekend or at home before the interview.. not 'stalk' you on facebook
