Why don't people acknowledge those from their past who's gotten better looking over time? - Beer Farts - 03-24-2014 04:57 PM

You see it all the time on social media.

When you see someone from your past (say an old high school classmate) who's gained weight over the years, you see a lot of pity complements, even though that deep down, those people giving the compliments are probably laughing.

On the other hand, those who have blossomed and look 10X better than they did rarely receive compliments.

Why is that?

Because most people are trying 'not to lose' when it comes to social-interaction, so they're always on the defensive(in both positive, and negative situations).

The shame is, that being honest is a miuch stronger, and more positive way to be. That requires confidence though which most people lack.
