Am I at a disadvantage for not having social media? - MasterHermit - 03-24-2014 04:57 PM

I don't like social media because (in my opinion) most of the time it's uninteresting people sharing things that don't interest me. It also gives an image of me (and others) that is not representative of me (and those others)

I just feel that sometimes this puts me at a disadvantage because most of my friends do have Facebook and a lot of people have moved on from MSN Messenger to Facebook and Twitter. It seems that for most people my age (18 years old) social media is a huge part in their lives.

I used to have an account on social media so I know how it works but I wasn't impressed. Do you think it's worth it to have social media? What do you think of someone who doesn't use social media, based on that fact alone?

The only reason I got on was because most of my friends and family live out of state, so its nice to "see" them more often. If you dont care about it dont use it or just have one and have the alerts sent to your email if someone contacts you and only go on then. Most people are online too much so go out and enjoy yourself.
