Essay question (Answering the question)? - Cheng Kai - 03-26-2014 04:15 AM

Hi there
I am an international student studying in London.
I really like to ask everyone about the following essay question.

Evaluate the effectiveness of using mobile/internet/social media for marketing purposes, using a UK based company's activities to support your answer.

What is this question asking for ??

It's meant for an English student, not a foreigner, that's what I'm guessing.

I think it means that you have to explain and compare the effectiveness of mobile, internet and social media for buying and selling or business. You also need to find a company in the uk who use these things in their business.

You need to evaluate 3 different types of marketing:
- mobile marketing ( think iPhone apps )
- Internet marketing ( think Google ads )
- social media marketing ( bit more complex - read this to learn more about what social media marketing is: http://knol.google.com/k/brent-mondoux/social-media-marketing-is-it-important/xj98hygrsxh3/1# )

Once you understand all 3 types of marketing, you need to find a company in the UK as an example, find out how they use each of these and evaluate the results.

I anticipate several hours of work in order for you to prepare a high-quality essay on the topic, good luck!

Statistics help with evaluating effectiveness. The fact is that the most powerful type of marketing is and always has been word of mouth, or referral marketing. People trust the opinions of their peers much more than the opinions of corporations. Social media marketing is simply the electronic version of word of mouth referral.
