Easy news feeds that don't contain half a page of teen drama (Facebook), if you are a superfan of some musician or actor, most have twitter and you can directly contact them. I use Facebook for more personal use, getting in touch with friends and choosing where and when to hang out, but I use twitter to see what's going on in the world, and to openly state my opinions.

It differs from Facebook. You can communicate with many people whom you want. It doesn't give you restrictions as Facebook. You can follow as many as people you want and they can.
Even if you are not active user on the twitter, you can use it for breaking news.

It's easy layout, you can contact anybody. And no game invites and stroppy teenagers moaning about their boyfriend cheating on them.

You can follow people that you would like to know information about, such as celebrities, it differs from Facebook as you can talk to anyone in the world. Facebook is more for more personal, but twitter is more open

This my friend is the sort of question that can have million answers. But I'll list down few reasons why I think most people use Twitter
- Follow celebrities and famous people ( IMHO this is the number 1 reason )
- Follow brands, products, companies they like
- Keep in touch with friends
- Keep in touch with news and trends ( for example journalists use Twitter to track special events )
- You're tired with long Facebook updates
- Keep in touch with friends
- Businesses can use it to find customers and engage with current customers ( source added )
- To get competitive intelligence about your rivals/competitors
That covers the most important ones I think

Twitter is the best way to express your feelings and to follow your friends and celebrity.
