I switched over to the new timeline layout on Facebook because I thought it would be mandatory for all starting on Jan 30, but most people still haven't been forced to do so. I feel cheated, I only did it sooner so that I would have plenty of time to make changes, but I'm beginning to think that it will never become mandatory and I'll be stuck with this crappy layout. Anyone know if for sure facebook will make everyone switch over? And if not, is it possible to get the old layout back?

there is no way to remove it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook
