I was wondering, when you first look at someones Facebook page, and you see the small window of friends (before clicking on friends), are these the people that you most recently chatted with?

The ones that show up first are the ones you two have added.
Example: Mark adds Tommy as a friend. Mark adds Clyde as a friend. Tommy adds Clyde as a friend. If they look at each others profiles, Tommy will see Clyde on Mark's friends first. Clyde will see Mark on Tommy's profile. Mark will see Clyde on Tommy's profile, and so on and so on....
Now, if you two don't have any mutual friends then those are just random people that the other person has added.
