Recently lots of fake spammy marketing accounts have been following me, people are saying i've been hacked and should delete my account? Can't i just change my email address and password?

getting followed by anyone doesnt mean hacked
if u are hacked then ur password would have been changed if not it would have been used
for spamming or posting vulger updates or links
if u feel unsafe then just change ur twitter password and the email password.
