After reading some of the replies, I was amazed how some of McCain followers denied this. The problem today is that people do not research candidates before voting.

By reading the answers it's clear that people don't understand SS at all. It has been the Presidents who have given the OK to rob SS for the general fund, beginning with Reagan. If you invest in the Stock Market what would you have if you wanted to retire or became disabled right now, nothing and then we'd be calling it welfare instead. There is no way we can go back in time to before SS unless everyone can afford to care for their parents until they die. They will not save the money for retirement if it is not collected by the govt. If it ends it is because the fund has been robbed not because it doesn't work anymore. McCain is out for McCain everyone knows that!

this is just another of "that one's" lies about McCain. Actually BHO & congress plans on nationalizing whatever is left of our 401k $$$.
Any contributed 401k money would earn ONLY 3 to 3.5% (NO more matching funds like private companies do for us) & read the links about SS & 401k $$ - O and the dems are being sneaky - watch what they plan to do with OUR money ONCE THEY TURN US INTO A SOCIALIZED COUNTRY - bend over people !!!
Re: your social security $$$$ - when you retire you will get 1 Check NOT a check each month. Also should you die your spouse would ONLY get 50% of your money - way to go O man!!!
