I think some people don't mind over people viewing their pages, they might like the attention or maybe they think it will be easier for their friends to find them on Facebook especially if they are childhood friends or friends they have known for a long time but haven't seen each other in a while. I have FB and I have set everything to private, the only thing people can see is my main profile picture and cover picture, and it just says what university I'm studying at and who I'm in a relationship with.
