Have you ever had to lose a friend because of a relationship? - Gunther - 03-29-2014 01:58 PM

I met this girl a year ago in college and we have become amazing friends since. I started to fall for her and I care a lot about her, but shortly after meeting her, her and her ex broke up. Just recently they are starting to get back together and getting a lot closer and she is slowly talking to me less and less...

So here is the situation, she obviously is forgetting about me, and if they are going to be this close and be in a relationship soon then I guess our friendship is over? I can't text her while she is dating another guy, that isn't fair for the other guy. Even though I can't stand her ex and I think he is an idiot and treats her like crap, I still can't be texting his girlfriend all the time...

So what do I do? I don't have any social media so texting is the only way we communicate...

If you guys are just friends, how is it unfair for you to text her just because you're a man? I have male friends, if my boyfriend didn't trust me and expected me not to have any male friends I'd leave him, that's ridiculous.

I think you are perfectly correct in stopping contact. This is not just a friend relationship. You said you were falling for her so what would be the point to listen to her talk highly about the guy she cares about when it isn't you? Leave it alone and let her decide.
