What are the best stocks to buy right now for the short term? - mollycocolucky - 03-30-2014 03:21 AM

I'm in a personal finance class and we have to invest a fake 1 million dollars into stocks on smartstocks.com. I really don't know much about stocks yet considering the class just started, but I'm really interested in doing well because whoever in the class has the most impressive portfolio, and makes the most money, gets $50! And probably an A in the class.

So is there any advice you could give me in what stocks I should buy (1000 shares at a time) to make a good amount of money? The semester ends in June so it needs to be short term. Risky stocks might be a good idea because it doesn't matter if I lose virtual money obviously, but making virtual money could get me real money!

Buy Apple, they are down 10% this month, good buy.

Buy Johnson and Johnson, save stock that will pay dividends

Buy T mobile, they continue to take share from ATT and Verizon

Well I put everything in Facebook and it just skyrocketed 12% today in afterhours. But right now I wouldnt mess with stocks anymore. Im a good investor and even im taking a break. The markets being crazy right now and the only easy stocks were for the earning reports which was Microsfot, Netflix, and Facebook.

I would say Google has a chance but they did so horrible with Motorlla that it is not certain.

You have a good chance with Apple though but only short term dont leave it in more then a few days. Because Apple will have a sudden uptake but it still is overvalued based on their earnings report.

So in short the easy money is on Apple short term. But sell when it goes up because it will still fall back to $450
