My cousin lives in a different State. Yesterday she announced on Facebook she was traveling to my city, checking in at her airport.
She didn't call or emailed me or even text me to tell me. She assumed I'd see it on Facebook or maybe she didn't care. Many times I've traveled to her state, I'd email them (my uncles and cousins) or I'd call them.
The last time I went to visit, she announced on Facebook how happy she was to reunite with her old friends, but didn't acknowledged my visit. I felt badly..
How would you react if this happened to you?

I would act as if I never read her Facebook.

Hmm no comment it is rude but I do that sometimes too not that I don't care about my family I'll be so busy to even text . But if he or she lives in another country or state and has time to facebook I think I would have at least a min to call close by relatives.

Could e an innocent mistake. Talk to her. Tell her that you felt kinda bad that she didnt acknowledge u on fb and that it would b cool if she could talk to u personally b4 she comes next time because u really enjoy her visits. Obviously u felt a certain way about it. But giv her a fair chance to explain. Technology has changed the habits of the world, make sure not to make her get defensive, she is a distant relative. communicate, b kind, love family. B safe friend.

It's a bit rude, yes. Some people live their lives on Facebook though, so for them it's even more direct than a letter/email. Perhaps in that case an email would be perceived as rude, as it was less direct than Facebook. Hehe :-)
