Are we in a Social Media Bubble? - sunsun - 03-30-2014 11:29 PM

I've been reading up on the dot com crash, and have some to wonder if we are in fact in a social media bubble that's grown massively due to the popularity of Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter (all of which have yet to become sustainable revenue-generating businesses) to name a few.

What do you think... are we in a social media bubble?

Can combining social networking, media, and online shopping or e-commerce be key to generating revenue online and on such sites? Can this eliminate the bubble then without it ever bursting in the first place? Are sites with a social networking aspect to them safe?

Which sites do you think would be safe if indeed this such bubble bursts?

I think FaceBook will be left standing due to the fact it has pop-up adds and advertising along the side. Also I use FaceBook and its great.
