do social networks give good link back? - JT - 03-31-2014 06:21 AM

Are social networks like Facebook and Myspace for example a valuable place to get good link backs?

i was thinking about creating several groups, each specific to my business and to my web pages i want to link them to.

will it be a good link back as there will be related content?

how does it work? more members of the group the more valuable the link back?

any advice would be welcomed.

I believe the groups you mentioned as well as twitter would be used more to develop a following that you could occasionally make announcements to, in a form somewhat similar to a marketing email.

As I understand, social bookmarking sites, like Digg mentioned above provide rank boosting backlinks recognized by the search engines.
