lack of apps, limited choice of apps

* It doesn't have a file manager

* There are a very limited number of apps

* It doesn't have a notification centre which you slide from the top (like in Androids). To turn on/off bluetooth/WiFi, you have to go to the settings each time

* Lack of customizable lock screen/virtual keyboard. You cant download and install a lock screen or a keyboard from the market

Well I have used one for over a year and I can say that everyone says it's the lack of apps, but for me, it's the quality of apps, the Facebook app, Twitter app and others are all of very bad quality, you'll know what I mean if you ever use them. The other thing is the browser, good god just try going a week with IE Mobile, it's a train wreck.

Lack of trending apps for younger people; but all the important ones are in the store now. Gamers like a faster processor. Things that have irritated me so far have been: Xbox music store not liking different windows accounts... security I suppose. A couple of USB crashes when copying music from the PC... turn off the phone and plug in again and the PC finds the phone OK. No such issues when done wirelessly.

When you have actually used a modern Windows phone you'll find that 90% of the criticism is BS. The keyboard is very accurate and word text suggestions very intuitive - at least as good as iphone - so there is no need for a different design. Voice control and dictation are both excellent (maybe outstanding) - better than Android. Connectivity to PCs is better and more fluent. On the Nokias the cameras are better too with the one on the 1020 being class leader by a mile.

It's kind of like Android being a hot hatch and Windows being a more comfortable yet very capable car like a BMW.
