I just got a samsung moment. this is my first attempt at a smart phone (i had tracfone before this) I was wondering if there is a way to set my phone up to alert me when I have new messages in my yahoo email or new posts on Facebook....any help would be appreciated.

Have you downloaded the facebook app from the market place yet? It has notifications on it. Once you get it set up it will put a notice in your notification bar when you receive a message or a poke. Also, when you are working on messaging, open up the settings and there you will see how you can set your phone to notify you when you receive a new text. I would suggest getting CHOMPSMS or Handscent for your texting because it make it chatstyle (similar to iPhone). Also get SMSpop up to get a large popup message when you get a text.
