Why don't people acknowledge those from their past who's gotten better looking over time? - Beer Farts - 04-01-2014 12:17 PM

You see it all the time on social media.

When you see someone from your past (say an old high school classmate) who's gained weight over the years, you see a lot of pity complements, even though that deep down, those people giving the compliments are probably laughing.

On the other hand, those who have blossomed and look 10X better than they did rarely receive compliments.

Why is that?

Maybe because people pay more attention to those who are uglier.

Because they have advanced, succeeded and prospered and you have not-who wants to acknowledge how much of a failure they are compared to former classmates?

Because the majority of our world are pessimists. It's sad, right?

I wonder the same thing. People are just evil and jealous, I've experienced this
