Do some people really consider Facebook Friends - friends? - 243 - 04-01-2014 11:19 PM

"561 facebook friends. me- non anti social"

You can be antisocial with other antisocial people.
They can be on the phone with the other social deviants (the correct word used in sociology), texting, whatever means.
Nobody considers Facebook friends as real friends, I sure don't.
In fact I even know some people who use it to network for career purposes.
Bob, I have a Facebook and think its a total time waster. I am not interested in what you're cooking for supper tonight or what brand of toilet paper you bought or that you had your cat neutered.

I'd rather read a book and possibly learn something, or do something creative like sewing, pottery, vivariums, aquascaping fishtanks...

I'd
With the aquascaping (underwater gardening) and vivariums you need to learn about the climate you are trying to re-create, and the biology of the plants and animals.

Much more interesting than hearing about what former school buddy Dorlain cooked her kids for supper tonight.
Nah, even then Grappler.
I don't care about what Dorlain cooked her kids, and "real friends" are for the good old-fashioned long-distance phone call.
NOBODY DOES THAT ANYMORE!
How can you communicate with someone you don't see regularly and live far away? You need to hear their intonations in their voice, the familiar sounds in the background.. what is Facebook to this?

I haven't bothered with it for months now.
And another thing, ableist ass hole, you take your health and mobility for granted. You can work hard, you can play hard. I cannot because I am DISabled. For me I need to rest 2 days to recover from a couple of hours of grocery shopping.

I think that's where people go wrong. When you falsely consider someone to be a friend you are likely to feed them information that can be used against you.

Who cares? You're Canadian

what are you on about

Lol your probably some loser with no facebook and no friends.

In answer to your question. Yes most people don't add people on facebook unless they know them somehow. I have 887 people on facebook and most of them i know from school. Very rarely do people with lots of facebook friends have few friends in real life. People with few friends in real life have few facebook friends, Shy in real life = No people to add & scared to add people they don't know ect.

If he/she has 561 facebook friends then obviously they have a few friends somewhere and they aren't a loser... I probably have 3 people on facebook i don't know who are random girls i thought were cute who added me.

lol at nobody thinks facebook friends are real friends, If you know them in real life they sure are!
Don't say "nobody" cause these believes are strictly your own!

Hope i helped.

It depends, some people are actually friends with all their facebook friends, others aren't.

I know some people with 200+ facebook friends who will feel comfortable inviting 100 of them to a party, and they will talk to the others fairly often

I think most people who add acquaintances on facebook know that it's just facebook

Only with those who you know already.
