why did the 'info' section on my facebook profile change? - Ana - 04-02-2014 12:01 PM
it used to be normal, but a few days ago when i went to my profile, a facebook thing popped up and it said something about linking info?? or something like that...and it was about my hometown and work experience sections..
at first i clicked 'don't change', but then something popped up saying that if i don't change it, i will loose information, so then i clicked okay and the format of my info section changed.
I've noticed some other people's 'info' section has changed on their profiles too, but most 'info' sections didn't change.
Basically i want to get it back to normal.
Hope somebody can help!

Like many other Facebook updates, you won't be able to change it back. Once they have decided what they want to do with their site, there is no way of changing it (just like there is no way of changing that boring and annoying blue theme color...grrr!)
My info also changed the other day, but people who I know haven't seen that change yet. It is completely normal, and you'll have to get use to the way Facebook changes things all the time because they do it a lot!

yeah that change is why I went to the yahoo answers facebook section. I know a ton of people whose info section changed, but mine didn't. lol I actually am jealous of you, I like the new format and wanted it for my facebook d:

Unfortunately it sounds like Facebook has made yet another stupid change to their format!! This section of the profile was one of the few places left on Facebook that you could personalize. The new change is awful for anyone who took the time to set up their info section in a way that let their true nature and personality shine through. You used to be able to write witty or informative things about your interests, activities, and preferences for books, movies, and television...it was great for networking. Now all of that has been wiped out and all that's left is a generic, boring, list of basic info...and not even all of that shows like it used to...you have to click to see the rest. Plus every single page you ever became a fan of now shows up in those sections on your profile. The other annoyance is that your groups no longer show, for other people to see. I think a petition should be started to ask Facebook to change the format back to the way it was...maybe if they get enough complaints/requests from people, they will realize that they took away an aspect of the site that made it interesting and fun. Some people had some really funny & interesting things written in their info sections and it was cool to read...all of that content is gone now! :-(
