Hi, goto Facebook settings and go to privacy settings, make sure show my date of birth is enabled! And it should work!

On your profile, you can have it set to show general information about you. If that's configured in your settings, you can visit your profile and see it, and it will show others on the sidebar of their newsfeed that it's your birthday.
