No, they were both gone before Facebook ever existed, heck Mom was gone before Yahoo! existed.
However, given that I'm a parent of a 24 and 18 year old... the Wife and I use Facebook, and the daughters have no problems (other than quiet laughter at some stuff relating to my recent 30th high-school reunion).
We each have a personal page, and a page for our ranch / business.
