I read online, and his official twitter, that he has indeed signed a long term deal with WWE and will serve an ambassadorial role. He also mentioned something like it in a video he posted of himself on twitter. What does this mean?

Like a representative, like he ll be promoting the WWE and stuff but not be onscreen or competing

He represent WWE when he does tv appearances and stuff.. He will also be able to appear on WWE tv if he wants.. He will be just like what Stone Cold is..
