Its sorta like text messaging. But you are texting or "tweeting" your followers. Just type a random thought down or whatever you are doing at the moment.

Its like any social networking website just add friends and type different messages and your friends would see it and you can also see their msgs.

it's very simple, short blogging basically.
if you have a facebook or myspace, it can be easily compared to updating your status over and over.
you also have tagging and trending topics. tagging is where you include @(person's username here) so they can specially see your update along with everyone else.
trending topics are things most people are updating about at that moment, you can see them on the right side of your twitter home page. you can just write updates about those if you want or click on them and see what the hype is about.
