Via friend finder on facebook? - 754 - 04-05-2014 04:16 AM

Random people have been adding me as a friend on facebook, i ask them if i know them, but they never reply. Im just wondering what the via friend finder is on Facebook

That happens to me too. People are searching your name, whether they want YOU or somebody else, and they send you a request. That's what "via friend finder" means, they just searched your name.

Ask them on chat whether you no them or not instead of mailing/writing on there wall

Also, if you are doing anything like farmville etc they often add you for that etc.

Umm but people will think your popular aha xx

Friend Finder works by suggesting friends of friends (FOAF)

It looks at your own friends and suggests some of their friends that you might know.

If someone has found you via friend finder, it's likely that person knows one of your friends.

Maybe you have quite a common name and people are getting you mixed up with someone else. There are lots of reasons why this could happen.

When someone tries to add you as a friend, you can look at their profile without accepting (as far as I am aware). Look under the "Mutual Friends" section to see if you have any friends in common with them. That is the usual explanation.

Someone added me as a friend once and I didn't know who it was so I just ignored it. I went to a party about 3 months later and that guy was really pissed at me because I didn't add him as a friend on Facebook and I explained I hadn't known it was him. It was a friend of a friend of a friend.
