So here's the situation, I opened my Instagram on my iPod Touch and when I click the refresh button it says "Couldn't refresh feed". My friend's instagram isn't working too.

so here's the situation - instagram is a web based service, your ipod connects to it via the internet, so all it means is either your internet is down, or the instagram servers may be down. If other people are experiencing the same problem, then it means the servers are down.

Since the update, Instagram is going through problems, and is currently down for maintenance. It's not just happening to you, it's happening to everyone. It happens to all apps, all websites.
It could be down for hours, days, weeks maybe. The company is working hard to fix it, just be patient.

Instagram (on twitter) said they were having technical difficulties and that they were trying to fix it, this was like 10 hours ago.
Apparently, what caused IG to stop working was a bad storm in Virginia.
All we can do is wait :/

Ummm, the server is down due to an electrical storm in Virginia...read the news!!

There was a storm in Virginia (where the Instagram headquarters are located) and it knocked down some power lines. They have no power, so this is why it isn't working. I'm hoping they can fix it soon, but there's not much Instagram can do about it.
